![]() ![]() The interns help with bulk mailings, occasionally staff an off-site information booth interacting with tourists, and sometimes join an ambassador team to attend concerts, comedy shows, and music festivals around the northeast to promote our extensive program of live events. The interns are responsible for preparing press kits and for keeping MASS MoCA’s event listings current on regional event calendars. Days in the office include written contributions to social media, eblasts, websites, press releases, and other promotional material. The marketing intern logs lots of miles spreading news about MASS MoCA events across our beautiful region. There is a strong emphasis on groundwork: street-level marketing throughout western Massachusetts, northwest Connecticut, eastern-central New York, and southern Vermont. A driver’s license might be helpful, but is not required.Ĭommunications: The intern works on all aspects of marketing and public relations to support MASS MoCA’s visual and performing arts programs. The intern will update the museum’s robust website as well as contribute to our social media platforms. In addition to comfort shooting and editing (Photoshop) still images, the intern should have significant experience in recording moving images and editing video (Final Cut Pro-X). The intern organizes and maintains current and archive material within an online digital assets management system. Application deadline is Monday, February 13 at 6pm.ĭigital Services Intern: The intern documents all of MASS MoCA’s visual and performing arts programs, as well as education activities, art fabrication, studio residencies, development events, and the overall vibrancy of our bustling 16-acre, 28-building campus. Internship dates are from Friday, June 2 – Monday, September 4 (unless otherwise specified). ![]() To ensure your spot in camp regardless of receiving a scholarship, register and you will receive a refund if selected.Mass MoCA offers summer internship positions in almost all departments. Email with your child’s name, age, school, camp week(s) preference, and contact information by April 30 to enter the scholarship lottery. One full scholarship per camp is available for students from North Adams Public Schools and North Berkshire School Union, as well as Hoosac Valley, Morningside, Conte, and Capeless Elementary Schools. Information on boxed lunches is sent the week before camp. Campers should bring their own lunch or purchase boxed lunches from Lickety Split for an additional fee. MASS MoCA provides a daily healthy snack for campers (included in registration fee). Taking a page from MASS MoCA fixtures such as Julianne Swartz’s In Harmonicity, the Tonal Walkway and Sol Lewitt: A Wall Drawing Retrospective, campers will explore multimedia based art and how to tell a story using everyday technology. Sound and video are front and center this week as participants are tasked with constructing a multimedia work of art to be installed in or around MASS MoCA galleries. INSTALLATION STATION (Visual Art/Art Installation)Įver wanted to make something BIG? Like, really WOW BIG!?! Inspired by the enormity of MASS MoCA’s spaces and installations-like the work of Laurie Anderson and kelli rae adams -campers will take the week to think BIG and develop, construct, and install a large scale work of art around a theme or idea of their choosing. This week we will explore how art and dance can help us find our place in the universe. How do you tell the history of the universe through movement? What can we communicate with the stretch of an arm or the stomp of our feet? Under Spencer Finch’s expansive light installation, Cosmic Latte, campers will explore dance and movement to create a piece of choreography that explores the expansive everything that was and is. THE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE INCLUDING US RIGHT NOW (Dance/Movement) ![]() Come spend a theatrically fantastic and dramatically wondrous week creating an original play to be performed with EJ Hill’s joyful Brake Run Helix as the setting. Something fascinating and inexplicable is happening at the amusement park! Particularly at the main attraction, Brake Run Helix.
